George became a vintner in his home state of Indiana in 1994. He discovered the rich winemaking heritage of the Cucamonga Valley after moving to Southern California in 2000, where he honed his craft by producing thousands of gallons of homemade wine that have earned him several medals and awards in amateur winemaking competitions throughout California and the nation. He has also helped friends and neighbors establish home vineyards and master their own home winemaking operations.
In 2013, George helped to establish Stone Summit Winery, the first winery in the San Bernardino Mountains community of Big Bear Lake, where he planted premium varietal grapevines and served as winemaker. His first few professional vintages on the mountain resulted in a silver medal for his 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon in the 2014 Toast of the Coast wine competition in San Diego.
George also works as a winery consultant, which led to his association with and the co-founding of Mountain Vista Winery in the heart of the historic Cucamonga Valley AVA.
